Laura Saskowski

Stem Cell Technician

“Regenerative Medicine tells one of the most compelling stories about what the cells in the body are capable of.  I believe in science that tells a story, which is why I believe in stem cell therapy.”

Born and raised in Salina, KS, Laura came to KRMC after working in various Clinical Laboratories.  She worked at Salina Regional Health Center for seven years as a Medical Laboratory Scientist. She returned to Manhattan in 2017 working as an Animal Medical Technologist at Kansas State Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

Laura has two B.S. degrees; the first which she obtained in 2005 from Kansas State University in Agriculture/Animal Science.  After graduation, she knew that working in science was her “niche” but that her success would be dependent upon returning to school.  In 2009, Laura graduated from Wichita State University with a degree in Medical Technology.  She is certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, (ASCP)CM as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

Laura’s passions in life are simply to help better the lives of people and animals.  She has been an active member of the Riley County Humane Society and has fostered over 10 cats and dogs since 2019. She is also an active alumna for her sorority, Kappa Delta, as the Chapter Advisory Board member overseeing Finance. In her spare time, Laura enjoys time with family, friends, and animals, being outdoors, seeing live music, reading, baking, and KSU football!
