Are You a Candidate?

Use your own stem cells to accelerate the healing process

If you have a back or neck injury, or have chronic pain from a bulging disc, cervical or thoracic disease or a past injury, you may be a candidate for stem cell therapy. In about four hours, our physicians can collect and deploy your own stem cells to reduce pain and inflammation, and accelerate your body’s natural healing. We use a nearly pain-free process to collect stem cells from your natural fat deposits or bone marrow. Our procedure requires only local anesthesia and, in most cases, recovery is almost immediate — you can be back to work the next day.

Get your back and neck working - reduce pain and avoid invasive surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Stem cell therapy for back pain is a popular, drug-free treatment that helps the body accelerate its natural healing process. It can treat various conditions, including sports injuries, wounds, back injuries, and osteoarthritis. Stem cells can be injected into injured or damaged joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, making it a quick and effective treatment option.

After the first few weeks of recovery, patients generally report gradually increasing relief from their symptoms over the coming months. Stem cells will continue to repair the affected area for up to one full year following the first procedure, and many patients do not require more than one treatment session.

Depending on a patient's severity level when treated, patients can experience pain relief for multiple years.

The collection site is from the low back, flank (love-handle), through a mini "liposuction", performed with local anesthesia to numb up the area, with minimal to zero pain.

Stem cell injections are most commonly used for treatment of the following conditions: Spinal Stenosis; Degenerative Disc Disease; Bulging Disc; Facet Arthropathy; Cervical Disc, Nerve or Facet Disease; Thoracic Facet Disease; Thoracic Nerve Compromise; Lumbar Disc, Nerve or Facet Disease; Sacroiliac Joint Disease; Chronic Back Pain

The Stem Cell Therapy Process

1

Initial consultation

Our expert physicians will meet with you by phone or in-person to review your medical history and will determine if you’re a good candidate for stem cell therapy. If we agree stem cell therapy can help, we’ll schedule your first appointment in our offices in either Kansas City or Manhattan, Kansas.

Treatment

In most cases our outpatient treatment takes four hours and is nearly pain free. You do not have to “go under.” On the day of your procedure, our physicians will collect stem cells using only local anesthesia - Fat is obtained from the low back or abdomen, bone marrow is obtained from the back part of the hip. After stem cell collection, you will relax in a private room. Once processed, your stem cells will be injected into the area of need using a highly sophisticated ultrasound instrument with enhanced needle visualization for precise delivery of your stem cells. We use a C-ARM for back injections. Fluroscopy is an imaging technique that uses X-RAYS to obtain real time moving images of the interior of an object. In some cases, we also administer an IV of your stem cells during treatment to further enhance your body’s natural healing process.

Follow-up Treatment

There is virtually no recovery time from your stem cell therapy procedure. Most people are back to work the following day.

Physical Therapy - KRMC has partnered with several physical therapist providers specifically trained in therapy following regenerative treatments. The combination of regenerative medicine and physical therapy to correct biomechanical imbalances offers patients an empowering way to take control of their lives.

Our medical staff will remain in touch with you during your recovery process to answer questions.

Payment Options

Patients who are considered to be candidates will be invited for a consultation with one of our panel physicians completely free of charge. Treatment cost varies depending on the disease state being treated and which type of stem cell deployment is required. To apply for medical financing, visit Bank of the Flint Hills.
