If you’re dealing with persistent hand or wrist pain that affects your ability to work, enjoy hobbies, or handle everyday tasks, Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center (KRMC) offers a non-surgical solution using your body’s own healing potential. Our stem cell therapy for hands and wrists may provide relief and improved mobility without the need for invasive surgery.
Conditions We Treat
Stem cell therapy at KRMC may help patients experiencing:
Hand arthritis
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Thumb (CMC) joint arthritis
TFCC (Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex) tears
Trigger finger
Tendon or ligament injuries
These conditions can lead to inflammation, stiffness, and pain that limits hand function. Stem cell therapy is designed to target these concerns by using your body’s natural repair mechanisms.
What Is Stem Cell Therapy for Hands & Wrists?
Stem cell therapy is a same-day outpatient procedure performed right in our clinic. Using advanced, physician-guided techniques, we collect autologous stem cells—cells taken from your own body, typically fat—and precisely inject them into the injured or painful area.
Here’s how the process works:
Consultation: Our team reviews your medical history and imaging to determine if you're a candidate.
Harvesting: A small amount of fat tissue is collected through a minimally invasive procedure.
Processing: Your cells are processed and concentrated in our in-house lab.
Injection: The stem cells are injected into the specific hand or wrist area using advanced imaging guidance.
Follow-up: Post-procedure monitoring helps assess your recovery and outcome.
Because the cells come from your own body, the risk of rejection is minimal, and the procedure typically involves little downtime.

Stem cells are collected from your fat or bone marrow, processed, and then injected into the hand or wrist using advanced imaging for accurate placement.
“Regenerative medicine is a game-changing area of medicine with the potential to fully heal damaged tissues and organs, offering solutions and hope for people who have conditions that today are beyond repair.”
Our expert physicians will meet with you by phone or in-person to review your medical history and will determine if you’re a good candidate for stem cell therapy. If we agree stem cell therapy can help, we’ll schedule your first appointment in our offices in either Kansas City or Manhattan, Kansas.

Treatment
In most cases our outpatient treatment takes four hours and is nearly pain free. You do not have to “go under.” On the day of your procedure, our physicians will collect stem cells using only local anesthesia - Fat is obtained from the low back or abdomen, bone marrow is obtained from the back part of the hip. After stem cell collection, you will relax in a private room. Once processed, your stem cells will be injected into the area of need using a highly sophisticated ultrasound instrument with enhanced needle visualization for precise delivery of your stem cells. We use a C-ARM for back injections. Fluroscopy is an imaging technique that uses X-RAYS to obtain real time moving images of the interior of an object. In some cases, we also administer an IV of your stem cells during treatment to further enhance your body’s natural healing process.

Follow-up Treatment
There is virtually no recovery time from your stem cell therapy procedure. Most people are back to work the following day.
Physical Therapy - KRMC has partnered with several physical therapist providers specifically trained in therapy following regenerative treatments. The combination of regenerative medicine and physical therapy to correct biomechanical imbalances offers patients an empowering way to take control of their lives.
Our medical staff will remain in touch with you during your recovery process to answer questions.
