Charlie Loiseau, a farmer and construction equipment operator from Frankfort, Kansas, experienced debilitating knee pain that hindered his ability to perform daily tasks. Describing his struggle, Charlie said, "I could hardly get up out of a chair, and getting on my equipment became almost impossible." His orthopedic surgeon recommended knee replacement surgery as the sole solution. Unwilling to undergo such an invasive procedure, Charlie sought alternatives.
"I'd heard about stem cell therapy at Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center (KRMC) in Manhattan, so I decided to explore it before opting for surgery," Charlie recounted.
At Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center, Dr. Frank Lyons assessed Charlie's knee condition and proposed stem cell therapy as a potential solution. Reflecting on Dr. Lyons' recommendation, Charlie said, "He said there was plenty of knee cartilage, so stem cell therapy might help without surgery."
Acknowledging the uncertainties, Charlie emphasized, "There really wasn't any risk involved in putting my own cells in the sore knee, so why not do it?" Dr. Lyons collected Charlie's stem cells, enabling treatment for additional ailments, including his left knee and right shoulder.
The entire procedure, completed at Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center in Manhattan, lasted half a day and proceeded without complications. Charlie recalled, "I walked out before noon, just a few hours after the clinic opened."
Despite being advised of delayed improvements, Charlie noticed significant relief within the first week. Four years later, he attested, "The procedure at KRMC turned out perfect. I have no problems whatsoever."
Thriving in his work at Charlie's Construction, Charlie expressed, "I don't have any trouble getting around or operating equipment, even during projects in South Dakota."
Eager to share his positive experience, Charlie recommended stem cell therapy to others facing similar challenges. He declared, "It does work, and using my own cells collected at KRMC, there's no risk involved."
Kate Farley, Director of Patient Education at Kansas Regenerative Medicine Center, emphasized the transformative potential of regenerative medicine, highlighting its minimally invasive nature and broad applicability in treating various medical conditions.
